Texas Holdem Common Terms
Like any other game, it always helps to be well informed of what you are playing and certain terminology that might be necessary to know in order to understand all the aspects of the game.
For example, certain probable outcomes have been named in Texas Holdem and some of the most common are these: when you receive the first initial 2 card hand and you have a pair, it's called a pocket pair or a wired pair.
Some of the most important pairs are the two jacks or pocket jacks known as JJ, two aces are known as AA and a pair of sevens is 77. There are two other combinations to get other then the pairs and that's the suited hands and the unsuited hands. An "s" is used to describe "suited" and an "o" is used to describe off-suited. For example, a suited 6 and 8 is a 68s and a Jack and seven with different suits is a J7o.
Other common terms used to describe the game are the "T" used to describe a 10; an "X" to describe a card with an irrelevant rank like let's say an Ace with another card in the same suit whose rank is unspecified.
Finally, consecutive cards that come in the same suit are called suited connectors. These are just some of the few common terms that are used in Texas Holdem and remember things can always vary so make sure you check online and update yourself.
